Agoria becomes digital forerunner thanks to managed services from Proximus NXT SpearIT

Technology federation Agoria is in the midst of a digital transformation. It unites nearly 2,000 companies from the manufacturing, technology and telecoms sectors. Like its members, Agoria strives to be a digital leader. To realise this ambition in practice, the organisation is counting on support from Proximus SpearIT.

Digitalisation plays an important role for Agoria

"As an organisation, we wanted to help set the tone and therefore drew up a 2020 digital roadmap," says Bart Van Nynatten, CIO at Agoria. "The aim was to streamline our internal operations and improve services to members, including a new ERP and new CRM system."

Through a managed services agreement with Proximus SpearIT, the organisation secured a high-performance IT infrastructure and tools and tailored services. "The first step in the three-year cooperation included a migration to a cloud environment. Our internal systems were transferred to Microsoft Azure Cloud. We also called on SpearIT to create new workstations for our employees. And a third component included innovation in services and activities for our members," Van Nynatten said.

Also cybersecurity as part of managed services

After a positive evaluation, Agoria decided to extend and expand the managed services agreement. "We found in Proximus SpearIT a partner who thinks proactively with us about future needs and solutions to meet them. For example, everyone knows that cybersecurity is a major challenge for the manufacturing industry. This is why we decided, for example, to also set up a Security Operation Centre that monitors our systems around the clock and allows us to intervene quickly should a cyber incident occur."

The federation is also continuing its digital transformation. Bart Van Nynatten: "Our new roadmap Digital Horizon covers four areas. For instance, we want to use technology even more in the context of member-centricity, we are going to focus on mining potential from data via AI, we want to push the transition to the cloud even further and we have plans to implement business process mining. We count on the expertise of SpearIT and Proximus to work with us to create added value in each of those pillars."
