Proximus SpearIT strengthens its ranks with Christiaan De Backer and Jan Barbier
Proximus SpearIT continues to grow and strengthens its leadership team with experienced professionals from the Belgian ICT sector.

Christiaan De Backer (ex-CIO TomTom, Van Genechten Packaging, Belgacom and former 'CIO of the Year' for Datanews) started 1 July as Director Operations & CTO. He is responsible for the future professionalization and expansion of the Services business.
Jan Barbier (ex-Proximus, Proact, Uptime) will become Practice Lead and will be responsible for the further development of the Solution portfolio in the domains Datacenter & Cloud and Security & Networking.
Accelerating the professionalisation of a motivated and innovative team that puts its clients in pole position with tailor-made ICT solutions, is a dream job that I could not refuse.

Proximus SpearIT now focuses more on the segment of medium-sized companies (from 200 employees). It wants to be an experienced, reliable ICT integrator who, as a 100% Proximus subsidiary, can guarantee the necessary continuity, stability and combines this with an agile, customer-oriented approach.
By attracting people with the necessary know-how and further digitalisation, we want to offer a full range of managed services, with a strong emphasis on a customer experience that makes the difference.
Christiaan and Jan will use their experience to further develop SpearIT as one of the fastest growing IT service providers in Belgium and Luxembourg. With increasing success in the French-speaking region, Proximus SpearIT profiles itself as a true national player with headquarters in Evere.
Proximus SpearIT will also give its customers access to the expertise in the extensive ICT ecosystem of the Proximus Accelerators.
